Overview
The Position Integrity IFR DataPack is a worldwide database that is derived from the Aviation Safety Database (ASDB), part of the Position Integrity Geospatial Database Framework (GDF). This framework provides the blueprint for maintaining a global repository of always up-to-date aeronautical data for navigational purposes.

The Position Integrity IFR DataPack is a worldwide data product derived from the Aviation Safety Database (ASDB), a subset of the Position Integrity Geospatial Database Framework (GDF). This framework provides the blueprint for maintaining a global repository of continuously updated aeronautical data for navigational purposes. When used in conjunction with our free aeronautical moving map application, Digital Aviator, the IFR DataPack provides the content for a full-featured PC-based aeronautical navigation system.

The Position Integrity IFR DataPack consists of many key components that are logically organized and presented by the Digital Aviator as "layers." Currently, these layers consist of:

  • Airports
  • Airport Navaids
  • Airport Remarks
  • Communications - Airport and Enroute
  • Services and Facilities
  • Runways
  • Navaids
  • Fixes - Waypoints / Intersections
  • Grid MORA
  • Airspace - Class / Special Use / Boundaries
In addition, the following elements are currently being integrated: All layers include global coverage. The data are updated 13 times a year in accordance with the international standard of common effective dates which prescribe update intervals of 28 days. Each update includes a refreshed view of the entire database, based on the Domestic and International Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) publications, which drive the change control process for aviation data.

Within the Digital Aviator application, each layer can be individually labeled for quick identification of familiar elements. In addition an advanced query function allows indexed spatial searches to access the detailed attributes of each component.

OEM Licensing
Although the IFR DataPack is specifically formatted to work in conjunction with the Digital Aviator, the underlying data components are available for license by avionics manufacturers, software vendors, and/or system integrators. Position Integrity offers flexible tailored data services and can provide all or a subset of the components found in the IFR DataPack in virtually any format. We are already providing data to several key avionics manufactures and software vendors.
